Re: mag flange gasket, is it needed

I think the mating surface of your case and mag-flange will have a bearing on if you need a gasket or not. I ran into a lot of problems getting a Spanish 200cc engine case to seal up at the mag flange, due to the matching face machined with concentric groves. The face on the flange was smooth. Never...

Re: RB25 kit and carb issues

Thanks for the advice. I eventually did find a diagram in english from smellofdeath too. I'm running way rich with the AF recommended settings, and the only thing way off was the idle circuit.

Re: Plug check please..

All mine do that. I attributed that to the off center spark-plug location in the head. One side is sitting just next to the squish band, and the other is facing the combustion chamber.

Re: Li185 carb and gears question

I run a Casa 185 kit with a KBA (clubman clone), PHBL24 and no airbox, just a unifilter pod on the end of a GP bellows. Pulls like a freight train and runs cool as a cucumber at WOT all day long. Running SX150 gear box with 18/47 sprockets, 4.8 final drive.

Re: Question: Torque settings

Most inexpensive clicker type torque wrenches are not so precise at the lower end of their range. Sometimes up to 20% of the lower end is inaccurate.

Re: Tracking down an air leak

Your revs will go down, not up spraying starter fuel or whatever, when you find your airleak.
