Re: RB has eaten an IWIS chain in only 190 miles.
same happened to my brand new IWIS chain on a TS 230. dealer told me they stretch when in use from new and to just tighten it again. was reluctant to do so but had no other chain, tightened it up and kept it, however controlled it regularly. there was no further stretching discernible so guess it´...

Re: Clutch 'free play'
if you take it apart again you´ll probably find that the ears of the bottom steel plate catch against the flanks of the pressure plate. if you pull in the clutch it will not have enough free play since that steel plate rests on the flanks of the pressure plate. file down the lugs (every second one ...

Re: carb size vs. main jet... 32mil Amal jetting help
@byron: thanks for the link ! seems only available as a kit ... but ok, for the sake of convenience... but available in different specifications .... now what do the different sizes in mm refer to ? no idea what would be suitable.. any idea ? otherwise agree with what most people say here, that´s w...

Re: carb size vs. main jet... 32mil Amal jetting help
hmm.... never heard of that before :) ... not a bad thought though. the carb was thrown together from used parts, so yes possibly the needle or other parts may be worn. was surprised that with a 35 pilot jet it needed the mixture screw adjusting quite a lot .. guess it´s now approx one half turn ou...

carb size vs. main jet... 32mil Amal jetting help
is there any relation between carb size and main jet size that could be used as a guide to jetting ? e.g. if a 330 main jet on a 34mil Amal works OK then what could be a decent size on a 32mil Amal with an otherwise similar setup. on a quick spin on the TS today I started out with a 310 main, engine...

Re: STAND!!!!

Re: shorter rear shock ?
true. u could grind the engine bumper off though. guess u would still need a very stiff shock, around 260-270mm long should work.

shorter rear shock ?
contemplating the current chopper project, thought that a shorter rear shock might be a nice idea. so can u shorten a shocker by say 10cm (haven´t measured it out yet - just a figure) ? has anybody maybe used a shock off another mopped that is shorter and can be made to fit a lambretta ?
