I know that Arkatxu bought the IWIS chain from a very known German dealer, so Im completely sure that it is not a fake chain. I have the same chain on one of my lammys and no problem at all. Probably aligment is the problem on here, but could be another reason for this problem?

I have a RB20 and after 100 miles I hear a strange sound in the chain side of the engine.
Today after 190 miles I open the engine and see that the chain is very stretched and I can put the fingers down and the chain can touch the engine case in the up side.
The chain is a IWIS 81 links.
This is not very normal, not?
What can cause this? bad chain?
Thanks for your help!
The GENUINE iwis chain would only stretch and become useless after about 30,000 miles, MBD have never had a failure with a GENUINE iwis chain which is why we stock them.
Like pasner says, my IWIS is from a know German dealer, and is GENUINE.
If you want you can see the "FIRST IWIS CHAIN IN THE WORLD THAT STRETCH AFTER 190 MILES" in Gijon, i will be very happy that you look, and tell me if is a GENUINE or not.
Or maybe i can put it in ePay because is a very strange item
There are very good shops that sold GENUINE items and not FAKES.

The problem is that if I put a finger down the chain near the crownwheel and other one near the front sprocket, I can touch the engine with the chain, then if i tighten it again still is stretched.
Thanks!

What size sprockets ya got?

Did you count the links on the chain to make sure you actually had an 81 link?

I just pulled an 81 link from the shelf that was actually an 84 link so count those links.

I have 47x16.
Was a possibility that wasnt an 81 link, but i have count the links, and when i put in the engine when i rebuild, the chain looks good.
Cheers.

Sorry, not sure if I get this correct. Are you saying that the chain is now too far stretched so that it rubs on the casing ? Maybe a Variochain will help to take up the slack, see

If that doesnt help then you´re looking at larger sprockets. Buying a new chain would probably only repeat your problem.

Hi stageman.
Yes, you understand well (sorry but my english is very bad :( ), the chain is now too far stretched. I know the Variochain, but i will buy a new chain and must check the crownwheel and clutch spider.
Thanks.
