Welding on a scooter

Do I need to disconnect anything before doing any arc welding on a scooter. There is no battery on it and the fuel tank is off.
No,but if you are using stick or mig the spatter will get everywhere.Didn,t see you at ruskington tonight btw.

yes ! disconnect your earths from your stator plate, or if you have a battery dissconect

Thats right ,remove the earth wires from the casing to frame seeing as the rear shocker and engine mounts are separating the contact with the bushes, if I can advise, we normally weld at least three to four small tacks on a job save the pipe pulling over as its being welded, hope this helps.........
