wont idle off clean.

Anything related to Lambrettas... ask tech questions, post helpful info, or just read and learn.

Hi i am running Muggy 186,delly 26phbh ,engine runs nice ,but when shutting down from a run it wont return to idle instantly ,takes a few moments to come down to idle ,could it be a weak slide,any idea's please???.

Do you mean it runs high revs before settling ? If so it could be an air leak, check plug colour to ensure its not running lean, check all studs are tight and if your running rubber sleeve on your carb check for any splits..

Checked all the joints all seem ok,plug light tan colour

try a bigger pilot jet up 1 or 2 sizes or start by adjusting the mixture screw setting it to a richer position the tickover will probably need turning up at same time ,check the carb isnt touching down onto anything causing vibration of the carb ,i presume its a rubber mounted carb
