I would personally say that all engines would benefit from one. How much you actually feel in the seat of your pants when out would depend on set up before ie engine size and tune etc.

Li to GP headstock length
Want to cut the headstock down on an LI frame to take GP forks, how much do i need to take of and what methods have people used(industrial pipe cutter or hacksaw)

Anyone tried getting Bridgestone hoops onto the AF rims, have tried two diffrent fitting stations neither could get them on with either a machine or by hand.

sounds like you could have dragged some dirt into the carb. worth stripping and cleaning and maybe your filter in the tank as well.
