Li to GP headstock length

Want to cut the headstock down on an LI frame to take GP forks, how much do i need to take of and what methods have people used(industrial pipe cutter or hacksaw)

i did this -

carefully making sure clip is seated square to the tube cut with a fine toothed hack saw careful cut a line round as far as you can go ,turn clip to line an completely scribe round then cut propper ,either then have a top cup turndown to fit the head stock or use a chrome ring type and have a sleeve made

dont forget you will need to reposition the steering stops and steering lock plate

with out mesuring it would be off the top of my head ..1.5" i think ,there is a list on here if you search of fork stem and headstock lenghs
