italian 200cc engine

Anything related to Lambrettas... ask tech questions, post helpful info, or just read and learn.

how can i determine what this engine is , its definitley a 200 italian engine, is there any way or number to check either a sx200 or gp200 or tv200 ?, the number has been completly filed off everything gone, came out of a tv175 s3 frame ,thanks

The real question is, "Why has the number been filed off?". None of the answers I can think of are very good news.

what is the internal engine case no, and post a pic of the top of the spigot

that will identify which case it is

i think it has had them taken off because on the v5 it is a tv175 series 3 but engine as a 125cc, so i think it was changed then sent off to have the engine changed on the log book, this was done a lot when the 125cc law came in, it has a 66.4 piston, a lug on the barrel with a 1 stamped in it also the inlet port stud spacings are wider as on the 200cc, it is a series 2 casing on it,

hi just been cleaning this engine casing up with a polishing mop to see if there are any numbers or letters left, and there is a letter T at the front so it is a tv200, now whats that worth, thanks

life is like that, not bad as the guy i bought it from thought it was a 125. now its up for sale.
