The real question is, "Why has the number been filed off?". None of the answers I can think of are very good news.

That young man has been stolen at some point in the dim and distant past or some such criminal enterprise....

or filed off when the 125 law came insydduckett wrote:That young man has been stolen at some point in the dim and distant past or some such criminal enterprise....

We sleep soundly in our beds because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence on those who would do us harm
i think it has had them taken off because on the v5 it is a tv175 series 3 but engine as a 125cc, so i think it was changed then sent off to have the engine changed on the log book, this was done a lot when the 125cc law came in, it has a 66.4 piston, a lug on the barrel with a 1 stamped in it also the inlet port stud spacings are wider as on the 200cc, it is a series 2 casing on it,
hi just been cleaning this engine casing up with a polishing mop to see if there are any numbers or letters left, and there is a letter T at the front so it is a tv200, now whats that worth, thanks
