Just had a look over a 1964 Li125 series 3. It has the chrome ring and the owner has LCGB date validation certificate. I noticed that it had clip on side panels. No handles at the rear of them. It was restored a couple of years ago. I just wondered whether this is something to be suspicious of? I have not come across anything of this year of manufacture with this type of panel.

non handle panels on a '64 Slimstyle are definitely wrong- they didn't come in until 1968 ish.
Consequently it should raise a question as to what else may or may not be wrong on the scooter.

It is a restored 1964. I have just not seen any others without the handles. I have since seen it advertised by the previous owner as recently as Feb he only advertised it asxa standard Li125 now it is being sold with 175 upgrade. I am always suspicious and do lots if research before making decision and of course seek advise from forum members. Money is too hard to come by to lose on something that is not ad it appears.

I'm pretty sure the only clip on Li type panels were on Servetas, but as long as the frame number is correct
the panels could be swapped off and replaced along with the spring clips.
Some people change panels as a personnel preference but the frame number dictates the identity of the scooter

Did you have to do that?
