Set up is malossi ported barrel and matched case transfers , 16' ignition , 1.25 mm squish, jl pipe and standard carb.
It pings its head off at about 6000 rpm, so mid throttle in 4 th.
I've tried with 140 air corrector and be4 in carb as been advised but tbh the 140 makes it 4 stroke.
Any ideas of how to stop pinging would be appreciated

What head is it? Is it one that's been machined or bought? Because of compression ratio, also see you using leaded or super

What's the full spec of your jetting?

Pilot, main, atomiser, air corrector etc?

The malossi kit is purchased from sip its the sesc tuned black coated barrel that comes with the mmw head that they claim reduces pinging !
The jetting for the 24 mm standard carb is pj 45/120 (2.66) mix screw 3 out, emulsion tube is be4,air corrector 160( tried 140 but 4 stroked) mj 132, slide is standard.

I use 95 octane unleaded.

Any suggestions?

That kit is for a long stroke crank, I gather you have a 60mm crank? And I wouldn't run on 95 unleaded, I been using super on mine for yrs , on way cleethorpes I had to put in normal unleaded and it pinged and blew my piston

Thanks for the advice, I will try this set up. Yes it has a 60 mm crank.
If your set up was pinging on super rapido 230 wouldn't mean you have a similar problem. If so what was similar to my set that may identify the issue.
Drunk monkey have you experienced this issue and if so was it resolved by using a lower octane fuel ? :!:

Meant mine was pinging on normal 95 unleaded, I ALWAYS use super but as no stations had super I was fooked lol, therefore an expensive repair

Sorry I got wrong end of the stick.
However I was under the impression from reading comments from well known tuners that the 98 Ron fuel contained additives for cars that increased detonation likelyhood in 2 strokes ?
