I'm in the process of coverting a px engine to 8" rear hub to put in mates Sportique, using SIP's conversion kit http://www.sip-scootershop.com/en/main/ ... r=50015160 however I can't get the hub on, over the supplied brake shoes! Any ideas?

Were/ are there different rear brake cams fitted, with different width of cams (just wondering if the cam is slightly too wide, pushing the shoes out too far)?

Why?
The dust plate and the shoes have to change to 8". I've not done this conversion.

Dave could it just be that there's a few high spots on the new shoes that need a chamfer?

Apparantly, speaking to those ITK, I have to grind a couple of mm of the end of the shoes, that make contact with the cam, this should then allow the hub to go on.

Yes that's correct. Done that tonight, hub now fits over brake shoes :anbrgin; However, this is where I encounter the next problem :x
The 8" hub now rubs on the brake shoe pivot pins! They don't tell you things like this when you buy products, I expect better from SIP. I suppose I'll have to skim some ally of the pins so they clear the hub.

I wouldn't have even been happy taking metal off the shoe as you've had to do to be honest :-( I certainly dont think id be taking metal off the pivot pins especially as then you'll probably have no metal left for the cirlips :-/
