Am I reading it wrong or is the JL making up to 4 BHP more than the Adspeed all the way up to 8000rpm

T'other way round gadgetman......what appears to be the crossover point in the graph....is the extension point of the ads pipe......ads is up 4 bhp.

Don't know if i'm reading this correctly.....but is the ads pipe only starting to make power at 6k rpm? And looks like 2hp gain not 4?

On this set up the ADS is about 450-500rpm later up the rev range than the JL4. It does make power lower down its just when Martin starts the reading.

When I look at the graph I like to look at the area say above 20hp on each graph. Doing this you can see that the ADS has at least double the area over 20hp. So yeh pretty pleased with it.

This pipe was the first I designed, only actually meant to put on a TS to take on my Wednesday night lot :D

if you compare like revs for revs then I believe you are correct, thou the difference is approx more like 3hp

At say 6000 rpm...jl4 14 hp ads 11 hp
6500 rpm jl4 18 hp ads 15 hp
7000 rpm jl4 22 ads 19 hp

In reality all its really done is shited the power further up the rev range by approx 500 rpm as Ads has quoted. Its beauty lies in its ability to rev on alot more after 8000 rpm....So your gearing, depending on your starting point might needed to be changed to reflect the changes above if swapping between these two pipes.
It a proper seaside screamer :D :D

Any chance of the other graph Ads?

I was correct- up to almost 8,000 rpm the JL is making UP TO 4bhp more ,( ie at 6,500 rpm JL = 18bhp / Ads = 14bhp). The extra revs that the Ads pipe allows between 8,000 and 9,500 rpm is quite impressive but in real life unless you had a 5 speed gearbox the JL wins hands down except perhaps in a 150m sprinter or perhaps a quarter mile sprinter that had gearing set up specifically for that purpose. Having said all that many people like their engines to rev to the max and it would be nice to see the effect of this exhaust on a more mainstream barrel not an extremely rare Monza 230 as we all know the port configuration has as much effect on the power delivery as the design of the exhaust.
