"Evostik"................yes true.
During my first ever "decoke" in 1968 (in which I only removed the head and didn't even think to do the exhaust port
), I must have dislodged the cylinder and damaged the base gasket.
Upon rebuilding and running the said machine I could feel "mixture~" being forced out of the joint before transfer to the upper cylinder. Being skint and not appreciating the intricacies of a Lambretta engine (not a lot has changed), I simply smeared a load of Evostik around the join area- seemed to work
