i do of course still ride scoots ,when ever i have the chance or need to ..
but usually i am beaten to this opportunity by others around here ,namely Dan and wayne etc purely cos i,m to busy fixing them...and they are more eager than i am as per testing them out on our local bypass....which i dont really mind cos i really dont want to risk loosing my liscence....

i,ve also had and ridden lots of bikes,in my job i,ve actually been spoiled in this respect,I used to sponser a TT racer and he used to insist that i use his machines now and again as a "thank you"...
and so yes i have ridden many bikes ,tuned R1,s...dukes ,suzukis,s,kwakers..and hondas..all mostly above say 150 BHP,some up to 180 bhp..

I've got an R.S Tuning clubman which performs very very well and lookswise from right hand side it's as standard as they come right down to unflared peashooter tailpipe. Before I had this I thought every nice bike should have a massive tailcan hanging off the side, now I can see where you're coming from with standard looks. This isn't any attempt to compare Ralph and Mark's work by the way, but has there ever been a dyno "shootout" between Sito Ancillotti, Indian big bore, KBA, AF, etc, etc, clubmans? If they're all variations of a similar design it'd be interesting to see how much they all differ performance wise.

Somebody mentioned B-race too...I'd read lots of good things about them and decided to get a retropipe on order, it's similar to theTaffspeed retro, but it'll gonna rev on a bit more. The retropipe will keep the grunt of the clubman I've got on now, but let it rev on to 8,500 and release some more bhp as well. It looks very subtle although the rear of right footboard needs a trim. I haven't seen how they compare to other touring pipes, but the dyno reading shown on B-race website is a nice smooth curve and holds onto the power up the rev range. He told me it would be worth waiting for anyway and I've been waiting...a while.

Adams pipes are well priced and available now...which is tempting. Be nice if he offered a retro style pipe too. If JL can make JL4 curly the same performancewise as the long snaky one, or seans cut and reworked Grp6 pipe. then why can't other manufacturers offer them?

Anyway, I'd love an engine that drove like a diesel and was great on fuel and yours sounds like exactly that!

Cheers

the b race pipes are very good and its worth visiting Simon if you ever get a chance as he is a realy nice bloke......looks like a farmer and his workshop is indeed in a farmyard but this ads to the experience. :P

i was super impressed with his dynoing too, after 8 hours i went away without a fully set up scooter :o this may sound bad but im with Simon.....if its not right then change something and start again so a cezeta-speed inlet is being made to reposition the carb so the filter fits better and a swap from mikuni to keihin and then we will start again.

knowing what a lovely place he lives Ill be making a weekend of it next time.

Come on Cezeta tell us about his dyno and what torque/power you got
are you going for the power jet version of that carb

well simons dyno has the heaviest roller in the world.....so if you need a stretched chain then im your man. the good thing though is that it highlights EVERY imperfection. my initial thoughts were that my scooter did not accelerate very well but i realised it was just under so much load that it was just fighting the roller.

im impressed with simon and his scruffy set up......it gives results.

ive not got a graph as we gave up in the end realising a few mods were needed so it was set up on the rich side for safety so that i can carry on riding it.

but roughly its 23 bhp and 18 lb of torque. the odd thing is that both bhp and torque peak at 7k but continue to 8k.

ill get a final graph when we re do it.

on the road, ignoring the the odd bit of four stroking.......it rides very well, i think the balance is right. for my dumper truck taste i would be happy with less power and more grunt as im lazy but as marks tunes come with top and bottom packer plates i can change this if i want or make it more aggressive if need be to.

im pleased its not too under tuned though as it does fly quite well but without any "turbo lag" which is the bit that bugs me on a two stroke without a power valve.

i would not want any more power, i just dont have confidance in the hadleing plus my parka tail strings keep getting sucked into the fan......so im no racer but its a good mile muncher so bring on spain :frog:
