Which Fuel filter?

Anything related to Lambrettas... ask tech questions, post helpful info, or just read and learn.

Also the Pingle filters are aimed at Harleys and the like,so our little couple hundred CC's scoots will be fine.

red ghost, of course regular maintainence comes into play, but if you're riding 1500 miles over 4 days are you going to check your filter every time you fill up? I doubt it. That's why I suggested a fuel filler filter. At least this way some effort has been made to filter the fuel as it's going in the tank reducing the need for an inline filter which can restrict your flow. :)

Just looked on ScootRS site and couldn't see a petrol tank filter!! Can you point me to it?

id leave that well alone its that shallow and has a solid bottom to it so when you fill up you have to do so at a trickle or it pisses out all over the place.....only my opinion of course :roll:

Dazza, Cottage Lambretta do a chrome/glass inline fuel filter @ £10, a mate picked me one up from Wickstead, looks Ok but fairly large, using it with a rear exit fast flow tap on a standard tank with a TM 24 with 190 main, no fuel supply problems encountered so far.

All fillters that are doing thier job will restrict flow to some extent but Dazza and myself have changed fuel tanks and are going to run a fillter [in dazza,s case, he says a few hundred miles] in my case a couple of hundred, just to see what if anything is coming out of the tank, iam also running a Mikuni [as is Dazza] and they dont have a built in fillter like Dellys do, how many of you regularly check your fillter in the Dellys, none :!: , unless your taking it to bits to do another job, i,ll be checking mine every time we stop for a p155 on the way to Whitby :o, and at my age, thats pretty often :oops: .

but as mark says 8mm pipe and the filter he suggested will allow more fuel to pass than the 6mm wont it so in theory no it wont restrict!

I am sure flowage is an issue, but I have alway had vapor locking /frothing problems on any scoots I have seen with in-line filters. A clean system is definately the way to go.
That's not going anywhere...
