I wanted to cut my running boards down, so needed somewhere to put my feet.
I used exhaust clamps from ScooterLoopyJohn fixed onto the engine mounts and then made some brackets from bits i had around the workshop.
I may have subliminally got the idea from looking at martinr's cutdown at wicksteed [and thanks to martin for sharing some pics of his work].

The position is fine [the left hand is slightly lower and offset more than the RH on purpose, just because there is nothing restricting it that side].
But I may need to change the actual pegs as getting a bit of vibration at certain revs. I used BMX stunt pegs which I had on a previous bike, but then remembered that that was for the pillion, so had never actually used them [no wonder the missus complained about numb feet when we rode to cornwall!]. Maybe i need to get some pegs with rubber on them...
I will do a few more miles and see how they are.
Next job is to finish off the running boards and fit some pillion pegs to the hangers.

Nice!

I was just looking at making those exhaust mounts work in a similar fashion the other day. I think your vibration would be lessened by using a peg that is solid rather than hollow. Those billet ones can be had for cheap on ebay.
