I have bought a project 1963 Eibar Series 2. I have removed the head & barrel to give them the once over, but I managed to snap one of the piston rings. The rings appear to be 2.5mm in width. The piston head is marked 58.47..... is this the size of ring required ? Is this an over sized piston for a 150 ?

How do I measure the existing ring properly to get a match, or a new set ???

Cheers,

Mark

58.4 is a huge oversize. 57.0 is stock, and pistons go up in .2 increments. I have seen some suppliers selling up to 58.2 but not 58.4.

Can you get some calipers on the piston to check? Sometimes marks on the piston don't have anything to do with the actual size. Normally markings will be .2, .4 or like 1M, 2M..something like that...

I will try and borrow a set of calipers and get a true measurement.
