I'm about to order one. I was thinking of one of these two, which a few people have already recommended:

http://www.ekmpowershop2.com/ekmps/shop ... 2803-p.asp

or

http://shop.airworlduk.com/egt-gauge--r ... 2-23-p.asp

Any comments? Ironically, the slightly cheaper one looks like it has a better display. Just wondering if either can be backlit in the dark.

Also, any ideas as to what exhaust sender to use?

Many thanks, Nic

Hi Nic,
They are in fact the same guage, different face, I have both types, I got mine here... http://www.skydrive.co.uk/search.asp
You can use the clamp on or screw in, the screw in requires welding but the clamp on works fine too ;)

Chris Sturgess was telling me he had had a couple of these fail and didn't rate them-perhaps why they are so cheap?

was it the senders that failed? If so the clamp on sort or the weld in?

Nic, the second one from airworld is made here in Cali by Westach and they are good EGT's. Vibration will kill it though and I' had to send mine back and the lead tech and designer took it apart and loctited some stuff for me. 5,000 miles and counting of some hard riding.

Cheers guys. I eventually went for soulsurfer's one, which is the same as the Airworld product but a bit cheaper. Thanks also to Mark for his separate suggestion...

Yes I think it was vibration but I'll ask him what his solution was.
