Ok,
carb has been cleaned, new ht lead/cap,new plug, new CDi
& fresh fuel
I have offererd him another stator plate to try...says it has a strong spark

If it was mine I would have to have the top end off for a look see...

Same thing happened to me on my Rapido , just ticking over - stopped all of a sudden and wouldn't start - one of the rings had somehow snagged and ripped the barrel apart
One other thing - might be the pick up on the stator (indian?) which might still give a blue spark but at the wrong time - happened to a mate of mine at cleethorpes last year - the fact that there was a good strong blue spark meant we looked at everything except the igniton first...wild goose chase

If it aint broke.........tinker with it.....

Hmmm, I'm more concerned as to why the engine builder isn't interested, did they give a reason?

was it left ticking over with choke on...?
if so maybe it could be just flooded.
if spark is ok ,and fuel is getting through and compression is good ,then i,d just try bumping it off before stripping...
or have you tried that already...

Sadly the lights are still on but the passion for geared scooters appears to have left the building
This Guy is a nice fella and to be honest he has been totally ripped off and screwed over by the treatment he has received.
dont make you mad when you hear of dealers doing this
try this turn petrol off take out plug kick over ten or so times to get rid of any flooding clean plug or new plug would be better put plug back in leave petrol off pour a little bit of petrol into carb mouth put hand over carb mouth any try starting it. it should a least fire up a bit

I thought Kegra still worked with geared scooters, they just broke the speed record on a Lambretta didn't they?lockman69 wrote:soulsurfer wrote:Hmmm, I'm more concerned as to why the engine builder isn't interested, did they give a reason?

Was this engine built a long time ago or something? 400 miles isn't much, but if that's over the last two years then I could understand a less helpful response to fix it FOC. Don't mean to be controversial, just seems a strange response to say "sorry mate, not interested" just after spending a lot of money on a new engine, especially as they have a good reputation

Turn On, Tune In, Cop out!
The speed record is controversial in its own right..... and nothing really to do with the guys at Kegra.
I'm sure whoever you spoke to did't mean to stick two fingers up........
Lockman is right though, they aren't really intrested in 'classic' scooters so much nowdays more new scoot sales.
whats the latest lockman
