I’ve had this happen on 3 builds now and not sure why.

The most recent one is a Gori 200. I’ve lowered the compression to 120psi and it still fights me on starting. It feels like the kicker is getting hung up a little and just can’t push through to start it. After a couple of bumps on the kicker the motor will roll over like normal.
This only seems to be on Series 1-2 motors and I’m not sure if it’s a lever issue or what?
Never had this on any series 3 or gp motors, some with 150psi or more even.
Series 2 hard to kick over

This is what makes me think there is something else going on. Either a case cover issue like worn bushings or a chain alignment issue? I'm wondering if anyone has specifically run across this and found a fix? I have't found anything in Sticky's or online forums on this other than the link above.

It's not just about compression ratio. As already pointed out, it's the lever, or rather the ratio of engine revolutions versus distance of lever travel.
I've done a couple of builds like this recently and used a bigger front sprocket to resolve it. On LI150 with scootopia kits, a 16 tooth sprocket was enough to sort it out.

it's got a 17/46 on a LI125 gear box and that did help a littlehendy wrote: ↑Mon Jun 22, 2020 7:47 am It's not just about compression ratio. As already pointed out, it's the lever, or rather the ratio of engine revolutions versus distance of lever travel.

The kickstart tab isn't fouling on the exhaust pipe, is it?

That might be the end solution but for now it’s got a s2 cover on it. Maybe I’ll save that for when the cover breaks? Thanks for the linkNorrie Bodge wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2020 10:31 pmGrumpy225 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 09, 2020 6:50 pm I’ve had this happen on 3 builds now and not sure why.
