I have just had some ally welding done on a casing and the welder has drilled and tapped new holes for the studs. He has done a fantastic job (aircraft welder ;) ) but on one of the stud holes he has drilled and tapped it a couple of mm too deep, meaning that the stud goes in slightly too far not leaving a great deal of thread for a washer and nut.

Can I get a longer stud or is there any other option for me?

Also, do you guys use loctite on the studs?

Many thanks in advance :D

Just put a couple of small washers in the hole and screw the stud up to them.

in think MB do longer studs, or get some 7mm threaded bar or a bolt and cut it to length.

Now, do I use flat washers or spring washers?
