2008 Austraian Import P2

I'd like to replace the Spaco autolube standard carb on the P2 with a genuine dellorto carb, which hopefully should eliminate a few issues with the P2

I have a Dellorto Si 24/24 G body which I know is for a T5. Ideally I need a 24/24 E which I don't have

Anyone with experience using the 24/24 G on a P2 - recipe for disaster/tears?

Spaco have been building the Si range under licence from Dellorto for years. Dellorto have not been making any in Italy for all that time. They were fitted as a standard equipment latterly by Piaggio.

It may be that the carb is worn out but any genuine Dellorto E or G carbs will be probably 10 years old now and you might just be inheriting others problems.

It might be worth replacing the carb with a new one to see if that solves your problems. What are they BTW?

Yes you're correct. Could do with finding a NOS Dellorto 24/24 E rather than something potentially worn out.

Poor starting when cold, a mystery oil leak from the carb box. And worst smokes like someone old burning tyres when cold

Oh and poor idling speed. As in revs are inconsistent
