That would be the best way of doing it, bolt in a bridge rectifier in the place of the selenium one but you will only need two wires, as the original was only half wave.

i have a battery type rectifier off a series 3, you are welcome to it if you want to give it a try.....

thanks i have 3 tv175 2 x series 2 and one series 3 , this is the first of the restorations series 2, the black plastic unit in the first pic i was told is for a 6 pole stator, my 2 series 2 are 4 pole 6 volt , which is the old units with the steel cover ,

ok if its the steel cover type, then yes please ,how much thanks ,do you know if the parts are still av for these original type regulators and rectifiers
