just wondering if is this normal, just fitted an m-tech, set at 25degrees retards back to about
17ish at about 7500 all looks ok with the strobe, not really sure if the jetting will need looking at yet
haven't been out on it, but whilst strobing at high revs I noticed that the flywheel seems to move out from mag
housing by a couple of mm is this centrifugal force in action or will this be something else!
when stopped there doesn't seem to be any play in bearings.
any thoughts please
Flywheel on the move

1) Flywheel loose on crank- try lapping in / tightening nut
2) Flywheel AND crank moving towards mag side- front sprocket bolt loose/ not torqued down correctly??
Sorry- clutching at straws here- what ever it is it needs stripping down and investigating fairly urgently.
Chris

Could be an optical illusion....
regards your setting with the M-Tech. I'd be careful with your setting unless your racing. If your "cruising" then you may be under 6000 revs and your timing could be nearer 20.....possibly too far advanced. I have an M-Tech and use setting 5. The timing is set at 22/23 degrees and should go back to under 16 degree at 8k revs.

Ignore it until something falls off, then fix the bit that broke.
On a serious note, crank shouldn't have any sideways movement, could be loose oil seal retaining plate and bearing spinning in casing, every time you Rev the engine the cushdrive spring is pushing the crank sideways?.....whatever it needs to come apart.
Ian
