t5 malossi carb size
Running a 30mm dellorto on my t5 172 reed valved engine, on speaking to a reconised tuner today he recommended to use a 26mm any body else use this size and whats the feed back

Erm no: Correctly jetted the 30mm will deliver the fuel that the reed dictates: never too much and never not enough with the 30mm (that is what mine has without being ridiculous on fuel consumption ie. 60-70 miles on a tank). What is the rest of your set-up and what is the tuner's logic/explanation?
172 malossi malossi reed 30mm carb fast flow tap ports matched etc by chislespeed revolver exhaust 22 tooth clutch

Tuner reconded 26mm will give better fuel and mid range only losing about 2mph on top end

VHST are the flat side. which is the preferred choice nowadays.
I'm looking at fitting a Mikuni flatslide on my PX, again MIkuni's and other carb's seem to be gaining favour over the Dellortos

vhst carbs are a lot more expensive than the phbh range.
I think phbh`s are on the up - lots of TS1 and RB motors running them now - easy to set up and cheap to rejet
