Float needle jet 300
Atomizer av266
Needle x7 2nd notch
Main jet 122
Pilot jet 55
Pacemaker box
18 degrees
Ron Moss clubman.

Difficult to start from cold, and pretty boggy - only done about 10 miles so far. Is it worth dropping the pilot to ??
Any other advice from the Avanti Veterans out there?
I'd have to double check my 30mm delly phbh settings, but from recollection they're pretty similar to yours. Mine is a pig to start from cold, so I took Joan Armatradings advice & 'dropped the pilot' to 54. This seemed to do the trick initially, but it's now as bad as ever to start
I'm gonna up the choke from 70 to 75 to see if it improves. But I suspect it could be the timing. It was set & strobed at 16° static, but due to the margin of error I suppose it could be 15°, presumably making it harder to start? It was a new BGM 120w stator too.
Any other ideas from anyone? Also if I fitted an mtech would I have to advance the timing, & if so, what to?

What size choke have you got in ? Should be about 70.

I have a M-Tech on mine and kicks off 1st or 2nd kick

Ok my settings are:

Main 122
Pilot. 54
Atomiser av266
Needle x7 2nd clip from top
Choke 70
Slide 45
Float inlet 300
Air screw. 1 1/4 out
Squish. 1.3mm
Li 150 (Italian) gbox
16 x 46 sprockets (4.89)
Franspeed tourer pipe
17° static timing (not 16° as previously mentioned)
Mid weight flywheel.

If left for a few days without kicking it over, it's a coronary job!

I should add that once running it's spot on, no negative issues with the kit whatsoever. A genuine good touring kit that sits at GPS'd 65 mph mile after mile.

Fitting an Agusto 6K brought back a massive amount of grunt and really cleaned up carburation when I moved to a Supertourer, having previously had JL3/RM Super Clubman/Micron fitted.

Like Adam the Agusto made a huge difference to my Avanti with a super tourer.. Not sure its a touring pipe but it's a lot of fun now.

Mines always been a very good starter from cold.

FYI - I decided to take my laid back Mugello 260 long-stroke scoot to Modrapheniacs last weekend and enjoyed giving it a WOT blast on the A354 straights. Happily off in front of my riding pack and suddenly my pal goes past me :(

What was he riding? Yup, off the shelf Avanti TT3 with JL3, 30mm BHPH, 4.8 4th ratio... timing and jetting exactly as Ron supplied it!

Ditch the PHBH's !! Just fitted a Mikuni TMX 35 and the difference is amazing. The low down bogginess has disappeared and it's a "boy racer's" fun bike round town. I haven't opened it up at the top end (new rings) but the low down performance is smoother and more responsive.

First plug chops look ok so i'm not running lean.

next weeks C2C will be the test.

I've got 650 miles on mine now. Its really boggy low down, I've got an M tech on order which will hopefully clearit up.

I took it out for a spin yesterday and started to give it some beans on the way home, once the boggyness clears it flies. I took it up to 6,400 revs which is 70 mph on 4.7:1 (as long as my maths is correct  )

I need to start down jetting it now, currently running 125 main jet for running in.

so far I'm absolutely delighted how the kit performs.
