Hello

To set the squish on my Lamby I'd like to fit a 1mm head gasket and omit a base gasket.
So.......should I use Blue Hylomar or clear silicone (Dow Corning 732) on the base of the barrel? Tis a Rapido 225 if it makes any odds.
Apologies if this has been discussed at length before.

cheers

I think 5290 was a typo, and was meant to be 5920. Picked some 5920 up today from Halfrauds.
Ai, blue Hylomar doesn't set, which is one attraction when pulling things apart, but its gap filling properties aren't as good as silicone. Easy to get the two components apart and clean up. Silicone sets even before clamping the faces together as it's moisture in the air that sets it off.
I mentioned blue Hylomar and Dow Corning 732 clear silicone as they were the two most likely looking sealants in me garage.
Thanks for the PM.

Cheers
