On the manifolds Richard, the one i have is the large phbh type but I believe there are 2 types, is that right? ie one for normal carb side and one for imola side ie kickstart side? is it not possible to put a phbh 30 on the normal (flywheel) side?
they do but I think the standards for PHBH and PHBL is BS, not sure what the stock situation is for the opposite hand.rosscla wrote:Don't you get left and right handed versions of the phbh?
BS & BD suffix
PHBH is fine on Flywheel side. There was a bit more power with the VHSH but I did not think it worth the extra IMO. VHSH30 jetting on on a GT200 big block is very similar to the small block, it's a good enough starting point maybe up the jetting by 5 and lift the needle a tad.Donnie wrote:Good stuff, hoping my manifold will be ok with my PHBH then for the "normal" flywheel side.
Just spent ages looking for that list so here it is again....Rich_T wrote:On the other post I did list out the timings for different rod and stroke combinations, you might want to look through that.Pepot wrote: Rich, I'd like to go for a longer conrod for my GT186. I have a 25 dellorto ,16-46 primary drive, BGM bigbox V2 exhaust. Would the 60 stroke 110 conrod mean any improvement on the kit? Does the use of a 60 stroke 115 conrod with 8mm packer mean a big loss in primary compression?
Thanx!

Just to help you out, here are the port timings and different stock configurations that can be achieved with a standard totally unmodified GT186 barrel.
Interestingly, you will see that if you increase the rod but not the stroke, the timings reduce. If you increase the stroke but not the rod the timings increase.
A modification for 115 rods is to use a DT175 piston 66-68mm bore and does not require such a thick packing plate. 58 stroke cranks are built without head gaskets while 60 stroke require head gaskets. Hope you find it useful.
