Used 2 O rings for the time being and seemed to work but is a bodge. Need to change selector and sleeve/bush next time I'm in there.

Ok stripped out the gearbox, rear hub off etc., etc.

pulled the spline out and lo and behold... Two O rings.

cant put my hand on sticky's book at the moment but Ive read on MBs that he has in the past used 3mm O rings.
Whats the proper fix?

You can use the thicker 3mm o-ring,but if the bush or selector shaft are badly worn they should be replaced.

The bush has to be knocked out using a drift after the case is heated in that area.Using one thats been knocked out of another case is a bad idea because it wont necessarily be exactly the same size. Its always best to fit a new one. When you fit the bush it will need reaming to the right size.
