Can someone be kind enough to remind me how to connect a battery charger to a loom as a temp supply to test lights etc.

From memory you remove the brown from the regular and connect positive then put negative to frame/earth

I guess that if you want to test everything you must conect the positive to brown, pink and purple from the loom and negative to the frame.

Depends on your wiring set up, but for say a straightforward AC electronic system, your post would be correct Gaz ( although I use an old car battery ).

I use a battery charger myself as they usually have short circuit protection built in and will shut down rather than with a car battery possibly melting the loom if there is a low resistance problem    (batterys are normally about 45amps)
