GT 186
hi about to have my GT 186 kit bored out to 65.50mm and want to no if I will need to lift the reed with a packer and if so how thick should the packer be ?

Those reeds sit pretty high relative to the cylinder wall, I wouldn't think you'd need a spacer plate. Of curse once it's been bored that might change things. I'd ask Rich and see what he has to say on it.

It is only 0.75mm on diameter from stock bore, you should be fine I ran 66 without anything. I will make some laser cut packers at some point but remember that if you use a packer you will either need to use off centre engine mounts or manifolds that exit on the R/H side. With out these considerations the L/H side manifolds will contact the frame.

Thanks for the replies , I already have the off set engine cones fitted rich but wont bother with the packer if as you say it isn't needed. cheers.
