Ok...probably a dumb question but... on an SX type clutch, which way should the clutch operating cam ( the bit that pushes on the thimble) be fitted? Looking from above, should the "finger" of the cam point towards the left or the right?

I'm not sure if it's possible to get it wrong but the finger points to the left, it's obvious if you think about it, the clutch arm is pulled ion a clockwise direction when you pull the lever in.rosscla wrote:The convex side should face the thimble on the pressure plate

the curved part should face towards the clutch thimble not the flatish part..... I had the same prob about what way it should go, it looks like an upside down comma or a number 6 <- this is how I think it should be
confused you should be
so the flat part rests against the crankcase
