couple of years back at iow Frank Sanderson had a load of bikes outside the ice rink one of which was a geared Apria 125. It seemed to fit into a series 3 without widening from memory although that may not be the case. Anyways looked on his site and there is a bit about a series 4/5 with an Apria 125 conversion but doesn't mention gears.
Anyways can anyone confirm what specific donor bike this geared engine would come from?

Twas a rs125 six speed engine. 30 odd horses, plus polini do a kit for them.

Cheers, do they do both air and watered cooled versions? Also the engines from an Apria bike not scooter right? thinking about gearing

Liquid cooled rotax. Great craic to go in the bike version anyway. They do the ton. That said, beasting well probably be a pain, since they run a 17 inch wheel as standard

Ta for that. By beasting do you mean gearing? I'm presuming changing the rear sprocket and maybe the front should sort the gearing.

Been looking at some on gum tree. we're the early ones 2 stroke and the later ones 4 stroke? also Some are "full power", was this a factory option or owners upgrades?

should have gone on Wikipedia first. Seems 2006 onwards are the ones to go for. they were watercooled strokers 21bhp and 12 bhp very good motor if it was me id go for a 250 crosser engine there small cheap and rip ur arms off as for blowing up the reason for that was kids not looking after them that's all very good motors and in a scooter frame u would be a fekin good rider to max it
