got a series 4 li non chrome ring got a set of forks for it but seem tobe 8-10 mm to short bolt for headset clamp does not line up and top of horncasting is rubbing on bottom of headset ...

Sounds like you got Spanish forks is the stem length 460? Should be 467 despite other guides stating differently. Are the forks ones with clip in rubbers?

rubbers same as late sx and gp type

Stem length 467? from where bearing seats to end of stem?
