Look at the pattern in the carbon... 2 bat ears but only one wing!

Do you mean the section marked differs from the rest? or are you talking about the shiny bits that look like they've been accidentally touched and wiped while removing the barrel?

No Diesel, he means there should be another clear section to the right of the 2 'bat ears'.

Any ideas why it isn't symmetrical Adam/FF?

Probably entry angle of the 'missing' transfer being slightly higher than the obvious one on the other side, meaning that it doesn't flow directly over the face of the piston crown. I'd not worry about it though, proof of the pudding is in the eating and you've said the motor actually runs well.

I've had plenty of kits with 'pretty' porting that have performed like **** on the road! (lol)
