it's not just that, the way that Lambretta have a mag flange that pushes into the main case also prevents it. The original design has casings that split around the crank centre line, a much better concept but one that can not be sensibly executed on the current cases.

I've also spotted a neat programmable mapping thing that fits onto the CDI that MB have had made.

Ye been reading this on facebook, nice write by Mark and seems to be a good product, i might well sort one of these before riding commences 2014, also love the BGM CDi and MB cover that can accompany it, all thing looks neat and tidy tbh, MB style, Ian Hepworth (MB) has posted a thread on here all about it Lamaddict.

Is it programmable or preprogrammed?

It's a Kytronic, and it's not made by MB, but they are the UK supplier.

All the info is in the link I posted above, but FYI it's pre-programmed, however the one in the title of this topic can be pre-programmed to your motor and set, or available as a re-programmable unit. The CE/Cambridge Lambretta ignition and the Kytronic Smart Booster are not the same.
