I have an RB20 with a 5 speed. Goes very well, small gap between 1 neutral and 2nd though. I also run 18 x 47 and like you had an italian 200 box in prev. I found the gap between 3rd and 4th to much of a pain in the arse so went for an indian 200 and that was a lot better. Thats the set up i had prior to getting the 5 speed. This would have been with either a Franspeed Race or an NK mid , both of which went well with the NK being the more revvier of the two.

Hope this helps.

Interested thread this. I too am toying with the idea of a cyclone in a RB20. I'm going to go with a Pacemaker on 16/47 for the mo and when funds permit change it for the cyclone. It will be interesting to hear of your findings....

Do you mean the first 2 gears could be a bit taller or is hard to find ?
I find the first gear on the gp box quite tall, need to ride the clutch a wee bit
I can't resist asking, did the 5 speed make any difference to the top speed??????? :?:

hard to find in my case. they are so close together that unless your set up is perfect then you may struggle to get the correct gear. this is at it's worse when trying to get neutral at
Lights say when at a stop. this isn't a dig at the cyclone as Iv had scoots with 4 speeds and the same issue. I'm sure there are plenty of people who don't have this issue with the cyclone? I'm rebuilding her at the mo so will try and make sure all the gear components are working well. The clutch is prob part responsible as well. The scoot is quicker and I'm pretty sure has more top end but don't run a speedo so couldn't say for sure... :D I only had it in for a week before I had to rebuild her but the best part of the box was the way the gearing worked. by this I mean you can now approach a roundabout and take it in 3rd and the accelerate out without changing down same with bends, go in in 3rd where prev you would have selected 2nd and pull away without changing down....very cool.
