Thinking of replacing my sito +, i have had a polini on a px125 before.
I know these are still available but there is a Mk2 version as well.
Does the mk2 exit right side also, is it any better peformance wise. It would be going on a stock engine.

the mk 2 is SSC RH side exhaust
they used a similar design to the polini for the mk 1
http://www.saigonscootercentre.com/Prod ... =178&s_id=
the mk 2 is made up of more cones than the previous one - more in line with the jl/revolver style
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vespa-Polini- ... 423wt_1038
Looking at its construction it looks like it should work better than a polini/mk1 - and the SSC build quality will be good -they are cheaper than polini by about £30 - definately worth a punt if you after something new
I have x3 of their lambretta exhausts
I wouldn`t mind trying the mk2 on my P2

I had one like in the 2nd link on my HB stage 4 PX200 for a short while, whilst 3rd gear was real fun it just couldn't pull enough uphill, into a head wind or both with my standard P2 4th gear so iwent back to sito+. Tempted by a Sip road though.

That was one of the worries, it seems the newer version looks more suited to a tuned engine.
It was the sound and the cosmetic look that is appealing. Wanted to get away from the standard look.

good first hand info from Shaun - you cant get better than that !
never tried the MK2, but looking for something to put on the HB200, its got a T5 4th gear in, and I'm quite svelte, (no laughing at the back) so will maybe pull 4th a bit better. at 110 quid, looks a canny punt.

the mk2 polini's very, jl, revolver, siminini likey like! obviously there's something about the length + size of expansion chamber that gives these exhausts a balance of torque and revs, which helps lower bhpowered tunes, I wonder what H Barlow does to a siminini when he opens them up? anybody know whats inside one? or what he does to them?...

They are a bit cheaper if you buy direct from the shop instead of eBay: http://www.scooterotica.net/userimages/procart11.htm £99.95 (second from bottom of page).

I run Mk II polinis on both my Vespas which i got from Saigion Scooter Centre both are excellent quality - the main difference being for the 150 lump the exhaust is a one piece construction and increases the power significantly - i repacked the muffler when i got it chromed and since then it has been a bit on the loud side for me so i will get it redone, the noise is worth the additional torque and i love this set up, even though its a standard barrel.
The 200cc version is a 2 piece construction with the joint between the downpipe and exhaust body being spring loaded on this version the noise level is ok but the resulting performance on a standard 200 barrel wasnt as significant as with the 150 version i have had issues with the securing bracket that bolts to the crankcase break twice now - finally i made my own bracket from heavier guage steel and that seems to have done the trick.
Generally speaking they are both good exhausts for the money and look the part.
