Just a quick question. Might sound daft but would a S1 horncast fit a S2 and vice versa?

to fit a series 1 horn cast on a series 2 you need to add another bracket just below the origional series 2 bracket on the fork tube . also the holes need to be slightly wider appart. i have recently done this conversion my series 2 frame. you could get away without doing this i suppose by only using the legsheild and mud gaurd fixings to hold the horncast. cheers simon

with series 2 frame get a piece of 6mm thick ally plate, cut a piece about 30mm by 80mm and drill and bolt to the frame using the original horncasting mounting holes, you will have to jiggle with the measurements and position. the plate is just to support the horncast

then fit the s1 horncast and mark through the mounting holes drill and tap M6 and bolt on, you may have try several times

Beware if your hoping to fit ser 1 bars to a series 2 chrome ring frame. You need to knock out and turn the chrome ring through 180 degrees
series 1 and 2 chrome rings are the same except that the grub screw locking pit is on different sides,
you have to redrill a series 2 one, the lock on a series 1 is at the front and series 2 at the back,
if you dont turn a series two ring around the lock stops will chop your cables with a series 1 headset, and visa versa, just redrill the pit for the locking screw 180 degrees from original one

regards

steve
