Cheers in advance
Ive been seriously thinking about Rons pipe to replace the JL curly on mine and stick the JL on my iron GP as it was fantastic on there.Cant say which is best but i did speak to Ron about his pipe a while ago and it certainly sound the nuts so maybe thats the kiddie.Price should be good too.Northern Man wrote:Cheers Soosh, been on the phone to a mate tonight and he suggested the same pipe too. The other options are a Franspeed 3 for the series 2 or the new Ron Moss clubman but which one
I did the jetting on a customers Series 2, the motor unit was a Taffspeed "fast road ported" TS1-225, with a 30mm VHSA but he had not used the Taffspeed Mk4 exhaust we had supplied with the motor but choose to use a Ron Moss Clubman! Mainly for standardish looks & the sound.soosh wrote:Ive been seriously thinking about Rons pipe to replace the JL curly on mine and stick the JL on my iron GP as it was fantastic on there.Cant say which is best but i did speak to Ron about his pipe a while ago and it certainly sound the nuts so maybe thats the kiddie.Price should be good too.Northern Man wrote:Cheers Soosh, been on the phone to a mate tonight and he suggested the same pipe too. Anyhow Adam Winstone did the inital carb setting up for Bruce & it had his brain's grey matter working overtime trying to get it to rev out cleanly.
Well after 3 hours playing with several different combinations of needles, atomisers, pilot jets & main jets we arrived at jetting specification.
The power output was close to what I was expecting, 14 to 16bhp depending on which gear you were in!
I then showed him what the power output would have been if he had used the original Mk4 system supplied, 22-25bhp @ rear wheel!
Anyhow I got Bruce to ride it around the local streets & he came back a much happier man!
