One other thing I should have pointed out is that the "out of the box" port configuaration restricts the RPM to around 8,500 max depending on what pipe / gearing you are using

I have read the review in scootering on the avanti kit... And now I am unsure about fitting my kit, as in my opinion the review states there are quite a few disadvantages ...so I going to wait on some more long term feedback on this cylinder kit...

What issue of Scootering have you read ? I have the february issue and there are no disadvantages highlighted in it, they say they will review it next month when the kit they have is run in. Have they released the march issue in the UK already?

It goes out to subscribers a week before it's in the shops ;) I didn't think the "cons" were anything to stop you fitting one, after all it's early days in this review with more to come after it's just been proven that it is plug and play if so desired.

The Article says:
CONS
#Long inlet timing with an open mouth carb means spit back at low revs.
#Difficult to fit a suitable air filter configuration unless you use a small carb & standard type airbox system.
#Reliablilty with centre bridged exhaust port unproven in the long term.
#Power spread is quite narrow.
#No inlet manifold included unlike reed kits.
#Sand casting methods mean that port timings may not be perfectly consistant from one cylinder to the next.
#Glass fibre cowling possibly not as robust as steel.
#Low exhaust height requires a good kick to start the engine.

To be honest I was a bit surprised to read what was mentioned above as I'm very pleased with mine so far from what little miles I've done on it. Mine fits all under the GP panels with a 30mm PHBH & a ram air filter all on a AFR inlet manifold & the Cowl is perfectly fine & sturdy when bolted down :)

tbh mines kicking first go which is nice and I've not seen spit back any worse than it was from iron barrel.
