Lambretta Tool box lock rivets

Same as before, im restoring/rebuilding my series 2. Had to buy all new locks and looking for suggestions on how one goes about securing the rivets.

I have the two rivets required however never done this before. Is there a special tool for this or some kind of punch?

Do i need a vice?

Really want to do this the right way.
Any help much appreciated

You will the gun type tool to fit the rivets.

I take it you have the type of rivets that need banging over?if so I use piece of round nylon bar with a countersink in one end this holds the domed part of the rivet securely in place, then you need to tap the rear of the rivet over with a small punch and a small hammer until its tight.

I think Craig Robinson had a good idea over on the LCGB web site and replaced the rivets with little domed nuts. Looks quite good I think and you have the advantage of being able to swap the lock should you wish.

yes, but remember if you slip then you will need to paint the toolbox door again

The nylon bar thing is good, but there are various grades and it'd have to be hard, I have the RP tool above but the last one I had I sent to Jem to be done
