The size of the battery depends on its power, the larger the more power stored, so measure yours and have a look on the Maplin website where I believe dimensions are given, or take your battery to an electrical wholesaler and ask for a burglar alarm battery of similar dimensions, where they'll also be a lot cheaper than Maplin ;)

The bgm stator is ok for converting
Fuse size depends On what it's using
Don't forget the switches on bars are getting very hot with 5amps going thru them

Should only be using about 58w/4.8amps which is roughly the total watts/ampage for all the blulbs on at the same time and will be using possibly a 4.5ah battery as i can get one for free ,so to save the switch somewhere around 6a fuse might be needed or am i off the mark a bit ... ;)

Since I have a long range tank and no battery tray I was going to do the conversion without a battery. Will this work or do I need one of those battery eliminators (basically a fat capacitor).

Cheers
