The pipe is the charley version listed on cam lam super Monza website. Its neat as its adjustable in 4 planes so much better chance of a no hassles fit which can occur with the differences in Lambretta frames. Its hand built and gas welded

Bargain!
If its like the one i rode that Jerome at Readspeed does then you can understand the cost cos its the best TS1 ive ridden wich kicks out just under 30 horses and has a very wide curve. Not something you do in your lunch hour.Obviously not on the same scale as the SM but shows there are good motors out there which do work well but never get a mention. There was an old TS230 at Elvington that did 15s up the 1/4 pulling either 4.1 or 4.2 so god knows how much torque that develops to pull that.Am also looking forward to see what people do with Ron Moss`s kit because for the money, think that could possibly be one of the best power/value/reliabilty ratio kits.

:shocking: really??
He should learn to use his feet, then he could "hand build" engines at the same time! Extremely ultimate!!

Out of curiosity how much does the average tuned engine (which would out out around 30bhp)cost?

Engine, or just tuned cylinder kit with crank/exhaust/carb etc?

That would depend on who does it, how many short cuts are taken, how many things they sell you that you don't need, etc.

And, how many rebuilds you have to pay for ;)

If its just the kit and bits, and not a full engine, then i guess you'd be looking at say £200-£300 for a JB or MB or similar crank, approx £150 for a delly 34mm, £240-£300 for a suitable off the shelf pipe, cost of basic cylinder kit £400-£500 for TS1/RB, and then £150 - £250 for tuning work depending what spec is required...............?

If you need to upgrade your clutch too then say £150-£200 for a suitable 6 plate? A bearing kit, £65??

So £1000 - £1800 depending what bits you have/want/need........?
