Hi.
I have a friend that has a brand new Rapido Classic 225 and the bore have a small hole inside, where the inlet manifold.
Can you see the pics:

What do you think?
Its usable or will affect performance or piston rings?

It should be fine, the hole is too small to affect the rings

If it's new he should send it back...why put up with something that's less than perfect if you just paid for it?

I'd missed the fact that it was new, just assumed it had been sitting around for a while. As rosscla says, send it back and demand a replacement

I can't see how it won't be a problem. Sure, if the threads in the inlet stud produce an absolutely gas tight seal then it might run ok but if they don't then surely at some stage the it's going to leak here.

Either way, that sort of defect should not get through QA to customers, should be sorted at the factory and if it does, it shouldn't make it to the customer the retailer should have sent it back.

Unless people return defective goods we'll keep getting substandard products.

I just chamfer the hole with a Dremil ball cutter then loctite the stud watching how far it goes in.

Exactly , why turn a blind eye and hope it will be ok , send it back.
