Does anyone know of a catalouge or data base of jap pistons that lists diameter, pin size position of ring pegs and if there are reed valve windows.
I'm hoping to do a budget tune on a sil barrel or maybe those cheap ali ebay jobbies but asso pistons are the best part of £100 so I've been looking at mitake and prox pistons but cant fine enough info.
Help please!
Jap pistons
Wisesco list sizes on one of there web sites... But the First catalogue I got with detailed piston dimentions was from Grampian motorcycles Musker st, Crosby. they used to be in Bootle Liverpool. They are one of the biggest stockist of Motorcycle pistons in England if not Europe....They stock Mitaka and Prox...AUSSIE wrote:Does anyone know of a catalouge or data base of jap pistons that lists diameter, pin size position of ring pegs and if there are reed valve windows.

I have only ever seen the hi-level book at the discretion of motorcycle shop owners. They have an annoying habit of throwing the old one away as soon as they recieve the new catalogue. Frankly, there are no motorcycle shops in the country big enough to store TWO Hi-level catalogues.
There are several options for con-rods that suit 18mm gudgeon pins. I think the Vespa APE rod is common, as is the Rotax rod, but I know that Harry Barlow has some 116mm rods that take a 18mm gudgeon pin. Harry describes this as the holy grail of gudgeon pins. Nice one Harry.
There will be other people along in a moment with more suggestions of rods. If not, start a specific thread.
