Any ideas lads, mates RB 225 kicks up, ticks over, revs ok but brickwalls at high revs but ok if you pull out yellow wire from stator to regulator. Tried 3 stators changed regulator and CDI.

Have you taken the green wire from the loom out of the CDI?

What CDI are you using? Believe it or not the blue Ducati ones often don't work well with indian stators.
Try the AF one if this is the case.

It may not have had a bearing on the loss of power but with the regulator connected to the stator there will always be a load applied as with the lights off, the regulator will burn off the excess power in the form of heat. Taking the yellow wire out would remove the load and would allow the engine to rev more.

Is it the re'made AF Ducati fly wheel, has the inside of the mag housing been machined down at all.
