took my 5 plate clutch out as it was slipping

5 x surflex corks @ 2.5 thick
steels @ 1.2 thick
2.5 top plate
total 23.5 mm thick whole clutch inc bottom clutch flange

got a five plate clutch kit, soaked corks then went to put in and it wouldnt even go down so i could get the clutch circlip on

no room for movement there then

had a look and the surflex corks are a whopping 3.63mm thick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

is it just my set up that is shite or are surflex b corks that are 3.63mm ick the problem????

any help GREATLY appreciated

3.5mm is standard 4 plate thickness(14mm for 4 plates)to fit 5 standard surflex plates,ie the ones used in 4 plate clutches you'll need an extended spider, and an extended clutch bell.
I'm using a scootrs spider with a 5 plate crownwheel,and a mb bell. Doesn't foul on anything.

I'm using the scootrs crownwheel and spider and a deep bell from beedspeed. It all works well together. You should be able to source the whole lot from the UK.
