Hi,
Any help would be appreciated, just bought a gp200 with a new sil stage4 engine the head has been ported and is now fitted with a sterling stainless exhaust, and i think a jetex 24mm, she starts second kick from cold ans first from hot ticks over ok...when i take her for a run she goes ok up to third and when i change to fourth she bogs and almost stalls and has done once.

I have drilled the air box and she still does it maybe she is now getting to much air, not sure really, i was told to drill the atomiser 2.1mm through and 1mm top hole to stop it bogging or start playing with main jets.

anyone else had the same problem
cheers kev. :?

first thing to do is to

1. ditch the stainless sterling, it'll crack and probably f@@k the top end.
2. Find out if it is definitely a 22 or 24 jetex
3. tell us what idle jet, atomiser, slide and main jet you have in there.
4. how long have you had it, ie just bought it or is it definitely run in already?
Donnie.

do you know what gearbox it has in it?i keep coming across the gp150 vj box it has a rediculous jump from 3rd to 4th and big sprockets on the crank end!
if the engine runs something like in the lower gears i would check this.

Any chance you could get your hands on a 30 mil dellorto maybe borrow one off a mate, there's loads of proven set ups with this carb..I've searched here and the net and not much set up info with that exhaust and standard carb..the delly would bring better performance from the pipe..

You should reveal your location as someone local might be able to help.

Hi im from wrexham, was told to ditch the sterling it is a bit revvy but brand new with the scoot so id like to get it running right and maybe ditch it later, had the carb off today, clean as a whistle... the carb is new also and the engine has just been run in, was not bad just toodling around but when i went through the gears and gave it some in fourth it just bogged, just like you go from full tank to reserve, then when i eased off it came back.

starts ticks over fine, its a jetex with standard jets 50 choke, 45 slow running and 118 main jet, ive drilled the atomiser 2.1 down the main and 1mm top cross hole, all back to gether and stars first time and runs ok..will test run it tomorrow....keep you all posted
